Упаковка и маркирование коллекции образцов немаловажный этап. Использование нанопленок типа GORE (отечественный аналог ДАНАФЛЕКС) позволит сохранить осадок с минимальными изменениями во время транспортировки, так как нанопленки дают возможность выходить газам из образца, но не допускают их попадание внутрь. Тем самым биологические процессы останавливаются, не приводя к химическим изменениям образцов. Разработанная методика маркирования позволяет хранить коллекции, состоящие из тысяч образцов. Маркированные коллекции упаковываются и помещаются в пермалоевые экраны (для исключения подмагничивания образцов) для транспортировки в лабораторию. Будут проведены эксперименты по экранированию образцов в процессе их отбора из керна. Планируется разработка технологии подготовки образцов к хранению в холодильных установках и использованием сушки образцов при отрицательных температурах.
