VISITING A DOCTOR


If you are going to a clinic, find out if you need an appointment. Either call the clinic to find
out or ask a friend.

MAKING AN APPOINTMENT

If you need to make an appointment, call the doctor's office. When you speak to the doctor's
receptionist, these are the things you should talk about:
￿ Tell why you want to see the doctor. Explain what your medical problem is — for ex-
ample, a bad cough, a pain in your side, a problem with your digestion. Perhaps you don't have a
medical problem. You may just want to have a general physical exam.

VISITING THE DOCTOR
