Under the leadership of A. P. Dobroslavin, a large number of works on military nutrition and research of military food supplies, especially bread and canned meat, have been carried out. He headed a special commission on meat content, which was designed to determine the features in the provision of meat and canned troops in different conditions of their activities. At the initiative of A. P. Dobroslavin in St. Petersburg, an analytical laboratory was established, which carried out sanitary and hygienic studies of food products determining their benignness, as well as the study of the nutritional value of products food and their digestibility.
