The opening is very loud and fantastic the dry down is awesome but it disappoints me later after 4 hours I find it difficult to smell it on me as i walk , I must mix it with something to last me longer :(

Just got this in the mail yesterday from the Thierry Mugler website and I have to say is this juice is ULTRA DELICIOUS. The opening is just killer. Creamy & sweet orange, not the generic sporty citrus you find in most fresh frage. After a few minutes you can start to detect some original A*Men dna. The notes do not clash as they are blended very well. After a few hours the black pepper & cinnamon come into play followed by vanilla. Just all around awesome. Very unique. It is not overly masculine but doesn't come off as too feminate either. The presentation is excellent as well. The bottle looks great next to my other A*Men flanker bottles. This scent IMO is somewhat versatile. I could see this in use for spring, summer nights along the coast where the sea breeze cools the air, & fall daytime. I would not wear this during hot summer days as the sweetness & bass notes would certainly become cloying.

As far as longevity I get a solid 12 hours. Projection to me isn't quite as good as I would like it to be. It's definitely on the average side whereas most TM juices are above average. I get around 3-4 hours of projection. On clothes UZ hangs around for a solid 24 hours.

UPDATE: The projection on me is actually awesome. Better than Pure Malt or my new bottle of the original A*Men. Solid 9/10 for projection

I don't know how Mugler gets away, well I do, so in awe of the original incarnation A-Men which I have to say is or was the best juice until it became the mainstay of the masses, that it became like a Burberry fabric, everywhere and even car seats had the famous print! When a Ford Capri has this print on its door cards and upholstery, you know its good night Vienna. The same happened with all subsequent A-Men.Pure Havane, Pure Malt, Pure chilli, Pure this pure that, Pure RIP OFF, is what it became and should be called! Ultra Zest is no different. Sure you get a burst of citrus on atomising you think wow Mugler actually added a new dimension. However this like your first interaction coming into sexual awakening think is that it? All too quickly the citrus is gone and Amen DNA just stays. I am now going to have a self imposed ban where I ain't falling for the all NEW...or special edition from T.M, which makes a yearly revival. I have got several bottle of Amen in various dramatis personas which all smell near enough the same!

In the summer 2-3 sprays and you are set for the whole day, with moderate proyection. It has the amen sweetness, so dont expect a light citrus, this is more a sweet citrus. Or a sweet scent with citrus hints. Its an amen fragance so dont ask it to be a light eau fraiche.

i really don,t get how this got described as a summer scent by many reviewers. It has tons of patchouli and vanilla and smells rather dirty instead of fresh.
I think i have a whole different take on "fresh".

In the first 10 minutes it's a explosion of juicy orange/tangerine, really stunning.. But then it turns EXACTLY to TM pure malt (on my nose) and for that, I got a lil bit disappointed, indeed. I Thought this would be something "out of the box"... Not my cup of tea, had major hopes on this one, but it didn't worked out with me, sadly

Yes its zesty but only the first 30 minutes, after that dries down to the original a*men. This is not creamy in anyway. Pass for me since I already had the original and pure malt. Upset it was weak too

This doesn´t have anything to do with the original A*Men (which I don´t like). But it doesn´t mean that Ultra Zest is good. It´s so ordinary. A slightly fruity air freshener. Another generic sport fragrance.

To me it smells like a mix of blood orange and pure malt, then the amen dna kicks in (coffee,vanilla and patchouli) but with some fresh zesty orange notes which are still in the background.

I have worn the original for many years and remains a favourite of mine. I bought this as it was reduced in a store and I liked the orange note from the first spritz. This is a completely tamed down edition containing the original DNA in the background. On my skin the orangey note lingers and it is quite sweet but not overbearing. This is a good way to continue wearing A*Men during the summer. The longevity is not that great compared to the original as it quickly becomes a skin scent and I do get wafts during the day even when I think I cannot smell it any longer. My favourite flanker is Pure Coffee which I have in back up, this is my second favourite flanker after the original.

One weird fragrance! On first spray, to me, it smelled like oranges and old molded coffee and I was in no way interested. Then, I went on vacation and was in Macy's and decided to give it another smell....same thing, except this time I sprayed it on my skin and after about 5 minutes I was like "this smells pretty good". Went back and bought a bottle and kept in mind that when I wear it, I can't be around anyone else for the first few minutes because I don't want to have to explain they smell lol. It last super long on my skin but doesn't have a huge projection on it unless I'm out in the heat. 8.5/10

This is an earthier version of Pure Malt. The patchouli gives it that earthy touch although the booziness is what I smell mainly. Too bad the orange notes fade so quickly. Since they do I see this as more of an spring/fall scent. Performance is average on my skin.

It smells like A*Men, only with an opening citrus note. After that fades (like any citrus), you essentially are wearing A*Men.

Holy cow - this scent is delicious. It's like an even "fruitier" Pure Malt.

The ONLY problem I have is that it doesn't last long. But the good thing is I can spray it on me every 30 min and it will never be cloying or over whelming.

Spray all you want....as you will need a lot...however, when it's on and performing it certainly is amazing.

I am in love with this one , I went to Macy's to find something new and I sprayed it at the counter knew I had to get it , found the sales girl she tried to shove invictus down my throat cus I always like to see what they push lol I go what's new she said invictus , I was like um no she gave me the card I smelt it I was like ewe , I said I want the new mugler ,the orange one well she didn't have the key had to get another girl , so then that lady got it for me , as I was leaving the lady pushing the invictus goes , you have good taste hahaha

I'm in love with this one! Almost better than the original! It has a really juicy and sweet touch with the blood orange, but the original DNA keeps it woody and masculine. The ginger gives a really refreshing feel, perfect for summer. I wish the sillage was better.If it would have been as loud and strong as the original, it would have been PERFECT.
Anyways, it's my favorite fragrance for this summer, totally unexpected release.Good job Mugler, one of the best flankers in my opinion...at least in the summer section."Pure Shot" and "Pure Energy" were disappointing for me.

Great fragrance with A*Men DNA. I like it better than the original or pure shot. Orange is very fresh and I love the other beautifully layered notes.

EDIT: Almost out of the sample. The more I use it the better it smells. This will surely be a classic along with Pure Malt and Pure Havane.

Ultra Zest is 90% Pure Malt with the rest being Citrus. The opening has that Orange Citrus Cream Soda vibe, than the dry down is mostly Pure Malt. It's a Love and Hate type of Fragrance. This could've been considered as A*Men Pure Malt Sport. This had to be made for collectors cause the avg joe wouldn't bother getting this. I give this a 7/10.
