Под фашистским огнем мы начали форсировать реку Нейсе. Потом немцы стали отступать. Мы обошли какой-то город и на его окраинах переночевали. Когда же наутро пошли дальше, в лесу нам повстречались немцы, ударившие по нашему строю огнем. Смотрим: падают, погибают наши пехотинцы. Тогда я пошел с радистом, который все время при мне находился, и вызвал огонь на себя. Сначала выпустил один снаряд для пробы. После того, как все пошло нормально, мы открыли огонь. Немцы отступили, а мы начали дальше продвигаться.

Under fascist fire we started to force the river Neisse. Afterwards Germans retreated. We bypassed some city and stayed on its outskirts. When the same morning went further into the forest, we met the Germans, the Frost we build a fire. Look: fall, killed our Marines. The Germans retreated, and we began to move further.
