The association of oppositely charged linear polyelectrolyte in solution or at the interface generates Interpolyelectrolyte complexes or polyelectrolyte layers. Recently, the first reports appeared about the formation of aggregate - stable complexes between branched (star-shaped) and oppositely charged linear polyions. Since the attractive force of electrostatic interactions can be easily configured using the pH or ionic strength of the solution, electrostatically assembled structures can be pronounced response (stimuli-responsive properties) to change the parameters of the medium extranecks. In addition, a great variety of possible combinations of components of the assembly, including oppositely charged ionic branched polymers of different topologies, ionic surfactants, nucleic acids and proteins, opens exciting perrspektivy use of this mechanism for the development of new functional materials and bioactive.
