Aunt Shaw and Captain Lennox Margaret offer to go to London, where she is expected to provide a pampered life with her cousin. Mr. Bell, who promised to care for Margaret as her own daughter, asks her to go home in Helston, which they do. Margaret understands that Helston will never be the way she remembered it. Mr. Bell soon dies and leaves all his belongings Margaret, including property in Milton.
