Статья посвящена известному британскому слависту, историку книги, библиотекарю Джону Симмонсу. Обследуя в течение многих лет собрания тех или иных британских и ирландских библиотек, Д. Симмонс печатает как в научной, так и в массовой печати свои материалы об обнаруженных им славянских кириллографичных старопечатных книгах, в том числе белорусских. Он занимался составлением учебной библиографии о Ф. Скорине, историей бытования отдельных его книг и использования скорининских типографских материалов преемниками.
