Hi Annie,Thanks so much for your newsy email - I'm glad you're enjoying your new job.I know how you were rather dreading it, but I think it's always hard to startagain especially when you have to move as well. And what aboutaccommodation - did you decide to find something on your own or are yousharing?(10)Quite a lot's happened here as well since I last wrote to you. I finally movedlast month. You know I'd been looking to move out of the city centre, well, Ifound a lovely little house half way between where I had been living and thecoast.(11) And dark too as there are no street lights – so you can see the stars. Ihaven't quite got used to it yet, having always been a city girl!Everyone has been very friendly though. You know, before I moved everyonewas saying that I was crazy because villagers tend to keep themselves tothemselves and don't welcome outsiders, but I can't tell you how kindeveryone has been.(12) I'm living in a terraced house so have neighbours oneither side. Both sets are friendly, but not too friendly, if you know what Imean. In any case, it's certainly good to know that there are people there if Ineed help.(13)You know what it's like in the city - everyone's in a rush all the time and it'shard not to join in somehow. Here, however, everything is much slower. I reallylike it. It usually takes me an hour or so to go to the post office by the time I'vestopped a few times to chat to people!Things are going well on the work front as well. I wasn't sure how this wouldwork out at first. My boss was happy to let me work from home so that's whatI'm doing at the moment. (14) I bet some of my colleagues think I'm not reallydoing anything down here but in fact, I think I get far more done at home asI'm not constantly being disturbed by colleagues. It's amazing how much youcan get through in an hour when there's no one else there. It's early days yet I know, but I really do feel very happy and settled here. Longmay it last! (15) You can give me some tips on the garden. It's not very big butthere's enough room for a small vegetable patch.Let me know how you're getting on. And send me some photos if you get thechance. I want to see what your new haircut looks like!Love,Hannah x
